All About ABC Beach Tioman
ABC Tioman Island is a shortening of the real name of ABC Village Tioman which is Air Batang or Kampung Air Batang.
It is located on the west coast of Tioman Island just north of Tekek, the main village. It’s relatively easy to get to – more details on this below.
The beach itself is quite narrow and is reported to run for 1.5 kilometres. I guess this depends on what you call beach versus water meeting land and rocks. There is some stretches of nice sand, but it’s definitely not the best beach on the island. So if you want to be by a great beach, definitely go elsewhere.

It is a nice and peaceful little village though with a nice easy path to walk along parallel to the beach. There are some accommodation and restaurant options. There is not much else though and even most restaurants were shut when we visited during the day at the end of September.
For a beach I had heard described as “popular”, it doesn’t feel this way.
It’s a cheaper area to stay so this might appeal and has a backpacker reputation, although it doesn’t feel like this when visiting. There are also camping options.

On a bike or motorbike, it is relatively quick to access Tekek and there is a great little beach and snorkelling at the part of Tekek closest to Tioman Island ABC Beach which you can walk or ride to.
There is a fair bit of wildlife – we saw monkeys and monitor lizards – and the scenery is beautiful like everywhere on Tioman.
If you base yourself in ABC bay Tioman, walk along the path back to Tekek over the water at least once. Keep your eyes down and spot as many fish as you can!
It’s fun to visit ABC Pulau Tioman and we especially enjoyed the walk here, but there are better places to visit on Tioman Island in my opinion.

Restaurants And ABC Tioman Accommodation
You won’t miss some eating and accommodation options as you walk along ABC Beach. Here are some recommended options.
Note there are no ABC Resort Tioman options. Accommodation here tends to be fairly simple.
Johan’s Chalet Review
Johan’s Chalet is centrally located on ABC Beach on Malaysia’s beautiful Tioman Island.
Johan’s offers three types of rooms, so you’ll be sure to find something that suits your needs. The first option is a budget double room, which is perfect for the solo backpacker or travelling couple. The next option is the budget triple room which includes an additional twin-size bed along with a balcony overlooking the lush gardens below.
For even more space, choose the classic quadruple room. All rooms have air conditioning, fans, and private bathrooms. Amenities include free bottled water, toiletries, and plenty of closet space.
The property features a restaurant, so you won’t have to venture far to enjoy a delicious meal. The beach is just a short walk away. Many guests enjoy snorkelling, fishing, swimming, and hiking in the local area.

Tioman Dive Resort Review
Thanks to its relaxed energy and stunning turquoise waters, ABC Beach is a top destination for travellers in Malaysia. Tioman Dive Resort is located right on the beach with excellent restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Tioman Dive Resort features five rooms. Choose a deluxe room if you’re travelling alone or with one other person, the executive room if you’re seeking a bit more floor space, and either the deluxe triple or the executive triple room if you’re travelling with a group.
All rooms feature free WiFi and terraces or balconies with beautiful garden views. You’ll also get a television, a safe, a hair dryer, air conditioning, towels, and other amenities.
You can rent DVDs from the front desk to enjoy in your room. The front desk will also have information about local activities and sightseeing including dive lessons and tours.

ABC Chalet Beach Review
Located at the northern end of the beach, ABC Chalet Beach is the perfect base camp for all your explorations on Tioman island.
You can choose between a variety of chalets, ranging from a budget double room to the superior chalet with ocean views. All other chalets offer garden views. The larger rooms come with refrigerators, and all rooms feature fans, towels, toiletries and private bathrooms.
If you’re looking to explore surrounding areas of the island, you can rent your own bicycle from the hotel. Ticketing services are also available for local tours and activities, such as diving, fishing, and trekking. The front desk can offer currency exchange, cash withdrawal, and laundry services if needed. Free WiFi is available throughout the property.

How To Get To ABC Beach Tioman Island?
You can come to ABC Bay Tioman directly from Mersing or Tanjung Gemok as the main ferries all stop here.

It’s also relatively easy to get to and from the main town, Tekek. There is no road but there are two great paths including one over water which motorbikes and bicycles can use. This path is also great for walking – it’s surrounded by a protected snorkelling and diving area and you can easily spot a lot of fish from the path.
So you can visit Kampung ABC Tioman by this path from Tekek. Otherwise, you need to get a sea taxi from one of the many jetties in Tioman Island.
