I know how hard it can be to decide where to go when it seems like there are so many great options out there. And Malaysia can be a long way away for most of us.

However, it is worth it! It’s currently an eight hour flight for us with three kids and we still keep making the journey multiple times a year.

But if you still need some convincing, here’s 10 reasons why Malaysia should be your next destination!

Why Travel To Malaysia? 10 Reasons To Travel To Malaysia Next!

10 Reasons To Visit Malaysia Next!

1. The Food

There are many reasons I love Malaysia, but the food has to come in number 1.

It is so so so good!

The cultural mix of Malaysia means you have fabulous Malay, Indian and Chinese food here. You’ll also find most other cuisines in bigger centres, but you’ll never go wrong with the local flavours.

It’s really a foodie heaven especially in areas like Penang.

2. Awesome Accommodation

After you spend all day eating, you’ll need a great place to crash. Thankfully, Malaysia delivers this. There are fabulous places to stay in all budgets from top, 5-star resorts to budget hotels, you’ll find something suitable.

The best part is that it’s all incredibly great value with the best prices I have seen for the standard anywhere.

3. Great Beaches

If you need some fabulous beaches for your perfect vacation, Malaysia has what you are looking for. From the famous beaches of Langkawi to the less popular east coast islands or finding a stretch in Borneo, there are tons of great beaches in Malaysia.

4. Interesting Cities

There are some great cities in Malaysia. From the modern capital, Kuala Lumpur, to exploring the history of nearby Malacca, there is so much to explore and learn with a wide range of events on offer.

5. Range Of Attractions

In addition to the beaches, there are some great attractions in Malaysia no matter what you are in to.

You can explore the jungle, kayak through mangroves or see it all from above at the Langkawi Skycab. You can ascend to the top of the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, visit churches, temples and mosques of many religions and learn about many cultures. You can scream at a theme park or take it easy with a massage.

Malaysia caters to just about everything.

6. Awesome Buses And Trains

It’s easy to get around Malaysia with a great system of buses and trains. They are also very comfortable and easy to buy tickets for.

7. English Is Widely Spoken

While not everyone speaks English, enough people speak it enough that it makes travelling around very easy. Signs are generally in English and you will be fine not speaking a local language.

8. Family Friendly

Malaysia is a very family friendly country. Kids are welcome just about everywhere and get many smiles and attention especially when they are little. In fact, I have enjoyed travelling here with kids more than I did before kids because I find they help open up the often reserved Malaysians and it gives us more of a chance to interact with locals.

It also makes it easy that many things are outdoors – it’s much easier to eat with kids outside and visit natural attractions. There are also many playgrounds around.

9. It’s Very Affordable

Everything above comes at a great price tag. While I wouldn’t say Malaysia is the cheapest destination in the world, I would say it’s the best value. You get a great standard of accommodation, transport, food, attractions, etc for a very affordable price.

10. It’s Easy

Everything listed above is a big reason why Malaysia is so attractive to us. It adds up to a very easy and enjoyable destination.

It’s a modern country which makes it much easier to visit, get around and find quality accommodation and food than many of the other countries in the region.

It’s easy to drive around yourself, and the affordable price tag means we can make it even easier by getting private transport and taking other shortcuts if we wish.
