Redang Island is the perfect tropical island with a jungle clad interior and gorgeous white sand beaches.
One of the largest islands off the east coast of peninsular Malaysia, Redang Island is still small and home to just a small range of resorts. It lies within the protected marine waters of Terengganu Marine Park. The water is crystal clear and there are many places to snorkel or dive.
It’s easy to get here from the city of Kuala Terengganu. There are regular ferries from there and nearby Merang. It’s not a cheap island to visit, but you will be rewarded with some of the best tropical island scenery in Malaysia if you make it here! Find our best guides below.
Note that the island basically shuts down during the monsoon season from November to March, and I do not recommend you visit here at that time.
