Our top choice of the hotels in Taiping is the Novotel which is without a doubt the best 4 star hotel in Taiping.
Novotel Hotel Taiping is located just a couple of blocks back from Lake Gardens and is set in the heart of Taiping’s commercial district, making it easy to get everywhere. It’s located right above Taiping Mall so you won’t have to venture far for shopping. It’s also opposite a fabulous hawker centre for dinner time delights.
Facilities include a great outdoor swimming pool with views over Lake Gardens from the deck, a restaurant, gym/fitness centre as well as a business centre and meeting rooms, 24 hour reception and complimentary wifi. There’s also a lobby bar and a small kids’ playroom.
I recommend booking a rate with breakfast included as it’s fantastic. Wifi is not as good although good enough for light usage.
Superior rooms (twin or king) offer city views while Premier king and twin rooms offer Lake Garden views. All rooms offer generous, modern bathrooms with walk in showers. It’s definitely worth paying extra for the Lake Garden views.

The best part of this hotel has to be the views – especially from the higher floors (so get one of those if you can), with the modern and comfortable rooms coming a close second together with the fabulous outdoor pool.
Worst Parts?
This hotel is pricier than many other options in Taiping but it’s well worth it if you have the additional budget. And while it’s pricier, it’s the cheapest Novotel I have stayed at.

Part of a small Malaysian chain, you’ll find comfortable mid-range rooms here and a range of facilities including Rasa-Rasa restaurant (which gets rave reviews), a small swimming pool (outdoor), in room complimentary wifi and laundry service.
This 3* Taiping hotel budget option offers nice rooms for this price point, they are spacious and well-presented and include tea and coffee making facilities, and you’ll find standard queen or twin and family room options on offer.

If you stay here, you won’t even need a car to get around, you’ll be 5 minutes walk from the Gardens, Zoo and night safari – so this is a great option if you’re looking for a hotel near Taiping night safari option or if you’re looking for a midrange hotel in Taiping near the zoo.
This newly built Malaysia Taiping hotel has some great facilities too including a beautiful rooftop (outdoor) infinity pool with views out onto the gardens and mountains behind. Rooms and public areas are contemporary and modern and decorated to a high standard throughout.
Additional facilities available include 24 hour reception, free in-room wifi, on site restaurant, cafe and bar, room service and complimentary tea and coffee making facilities. There’s much to love about this new hotel, Taiping, but our favourite part has to be the views from the rooftop pool! Perfect for watching the low clouds over the hills on a rainy day.

There’s not much to complain about at the Flemington Hotel in Taiping, Perak – one thing to note is that breakfast is charged extra (not included) and some guests have commented that the staff could be friendlier.

The main city attractions in Taiping are located an easy 3km drive away from the Beverly Hotel Taiping Perak, which is a laid back property with chic, simplistic design.
All rooms feature modern, stylish bedrooms equipped with free wifi, safety deposit boxes, air conditioning and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel has a 24 hour reception for check-in. The food avenue and beer garden are just next door for tasty Malaysian food and drinks.

Although SSL hotel Taiping is located a little further out of town than some of the other hotel Perak Taiping options, it’s still just a 5 minute drive away from the major attractions. Best of all, this hotel is very attractively priced considering the amenities on offer.
Facilities on offer at the SSL Taiping hotel include free-wifi, mini bars in rooms, a chinese restaurant on site, a coffee house, fitness centre, laundry service and tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms.
The hotel’s 100 rooms include 9 different room types from compact doubles and standard and deluxe queen and king sized rooms through to upscale executive suites and family suites. The main differences between the room types are space, and some of the suites offer more contemporary design.

Located in the Kampung Jambu area of town in the main commercial district and set back from the Lake Gardens, the hotel is in easy reach of all the main things to do in Taiping within a few minutes walk or drive.
The hotel has plenty of facilities on offer, including high speed wifi, room service and in-room tea/coffee making facilities, a 24 hour reception desk, as well as a good restaurant on site. There’s also a private car park for guest parking.

If you prefer to stay away from the city and in nature by the lake, then staying at a resort in Bukit Merah, Taiping may be just the thing for you.
This resort, Taiping, Perak, is located on Bukit Merah Lake which is just 18km from Taiping or 30 minutes drive away. Staying in Bukit Merah gives you the benefit of being able to relax in stunning surroundings over the lake, while also being just next to the Bukit Merah waterpark.
Accommodation here is set in over-the-water bungalows or chalets and facilities on site include 3 different food and beverage outlets, balconies overlooking the lake, an outdoor swimming pool, 24 hour reception, in-room dining and more.
Suites are all located in the over-water chalets (make sure to book one of these instead of the Lakeland hotel which is not over the water) and come with lake views, balconies, and luxurious bathrooms.

Bukit Merah Laketown Resort Review
Address: Jalan Bukit Merah, Semanggol, Bukit Merah, Taiping
Last but not least in this Taiping hotels list, if you’re looking for resort Taiping Perak options on offer, you may also want to consider the Bukit Merah Laketown resort, set at the same location as the Kampung Air Chalets listed earlier in these reviews.
The Laketown Hotel is situated right next to the Bukit Merah waterpark, along with the Kampung Air Chalets; the main difference is that this hotel building is on land, rather than over water as the Chalets are. Still, you get all the benefits of the location and amenities at the resort.
Just 18km from Taiping, this is the perfect place to enjoy the natural surroundings, and yet be in easy reach of the Taiping attractions in town. Facilities at the resort include 3 restaurants and bars, access to the Laketown Ecopark and Adventure Park (as well as the waterpark), making it perfect for a trip to Taiping with kids.
There are three main room types on offer: Standard Rooms, Deluxe Rooms and Junior Suites. Deluxe rooms have 3 single beds or a king bed and a single bed, making them a good choice as a small family room.
