Army Museum Port Dickson
The Army Museum consists of two parts. The first part contains galleries which cover the military history of the Malay peninsula. The second part is all about military equipment with items like armoured cars and helicopters to explore. You can climb in some of them.
The military history exhibits cover information from the 16th century Melaka Sultanate, European arrivals, Japanese invasion and everything up until now. There are nine galleries including a recreated tunnel of the the ones used by Communist guerrillas during the Malay Emergency. This is particularly well done and gives you some insights into how the Communist guerillas must have lived.
Some exhibits are just labelled in Malay but most are in English as well.
There is a lot of information in these galleries and anyone interested in military history will enjoy them.
The military equipment is interesting and a lot of fun and is likely to be a hit if you are visiting Port Dickson with kids too. There are jeeps, a train, helicopters, armoured cars and planes.
There is also a memorial fountain dedicated to soldiers who have served Malaysia and a small trail with picnic areas and rope bridges.
It’s easy to spend a couple of hours here and it’s definitely worth stopping by if you have an interest in military history especially as it is free.
