Hotel Boss Singapore Review
We arrived at the Boss Singapore Hotel around lunch time. This is a big hotel with 1,500 rooms, and I had read that check-in time can be a bit crazy. It did feel chaotic when we arrived. The outside of the hotel was so busy with cars, vans and buses that we couldn’t be dropped at the door. There were many people in the reception area as well.
Thankfully, they also had many staff to handle this, and the check-in line moved fast. The staff were efficient, and we were soon checked in.
However, the reception area certainly did not give a 4-star vibe and this was something I thought about the whole stay. I would class this hotel as a solid 3-star option. There’s not really any added niceness or luxury like I would expect from 4-star.
We were soon in the lift up to our floor from one of the two lift lobbies and got a sense of how big the hotel is when we arrived at our floor to find directions to 100 different rooms.
Hotel Boss Singapore Location
The Boss Hotel Singapore Address: 500 Jln Sultan, Singapore 199020
Hotel Boss Singapore is in a convenient location. It’s close to a MRT station and is in Kampong Glam, the old Malay part of Singapore. The centre of Bugis is also close by and Little India is not far.
We also easily walked to City Square shopping centre.
If you need to know the Hotel Boss Singapore nearest MRT station, it is Lavender. It’s about a 5 minute walk away and is on the East-West line which goes out to the airport. Jalan Besar MRT station on the Downtown line is about a 10 minute walk.
Hotel Rooms At The Hotel Boss In Singapore
There is a range of room types. Hotel Boss Singapore rooms range from superior double and twin rooms to triple and family rooms. You can pay extra to get a balcony or view. The views are worth extra money.
There are also premier rooms which offer more space.
All rooms are modern and well maintained with air-conditioning, desk area, smart TV, mini-fridge and everything you would expect from a 4-star hotel.
A downside of this hotel is that some rooms look into the interior of the hotel.
Since I was staying at the Boss Hotel at Singapore with two kids, I booked a triple room. The Hotel Boss Singapore family room is an option for families of four.
Triple Room
On entry to the room, I straight away was surprised and concerned by how small it was! The (small) bathroom was on my right with the room straight ahead.
The bathroom was compact but had everything we needed with a basin, shelf, toilet and shower. There were essential toiletries including toothbrushes. Unfortunately, there was also a giant hair left on the wall which was a big turn-off.
The main bedroom had a double and single bed. There was not much room between them and just a slither of space between the double bed and wall. Unfortunately, the beds had solid bases with nowhere to put suitcases underneath.
The opposite wall had a luggage stand (only just fit my carry-on case) a narrow desk area, small safe (in a drawer), mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water, hair dryer and slippers.
There were also USB power points and international power points here. There was also an international power point by the bed.
There was also a flatscreen TV on the wall and a big mirror and a hanging rack above the shelf. The television had youtube as well as TV stations. It also had the wifi login information for our room.
If you stay here, take a photo of the wifi login on the screen when you arrive. This is room specific, and we could not find a way to get back to it after selecting off this screen!
Everything in this room seemed clean and was comfortable enough.
My initial biggest problem is a lack of space for our luggage. We had three carry on suitcases and there wasn’t enough space, even with the luggage stand, to have all three open without blocking doors/fridges/something. It was very tight and you wouldn’t want much luggage if you stay here.
Unfortunately, in the evening, a bigger problem reared its head. The rooms aren’t very well soundproofed and while I could hear nothing from outside, I could clearly hear our neighbours talking. This kept us awake.
The biggest pro of this room is definitely the view. We had an amazing view over Singapore including the Singapore Flyer and parts of Gardens By The Bay. I was very happy when I opened the curtains to find this. The weather was quite wet on our one night here so at least we could watch Singapore from the dry comfort of our room.

The Boss Hotel In Singapore Facilities
A big part of the reason that I picked the Hotel Boss Bugis Singapore is that it has a pool. There’s nothing better than a dip in the pool after a hot and sweaty day of sightseeing.
The Hotel Boss Singapore swimming pool is a great size with some nice views. It’s perfect for cooling down and is one of my favourite parts about this hotel.
There is also a gym right next to the pool and a children’s playground nearby. Another big plus of this hotel is a guest laundry. Parking is also available for an extra fee.
Dining
There are plenty of eating options here. Within the hotel, there is the Salt & Pepper Restaurant right next to the reception. This offers an Indian buffet for lunch and dinner.
Near the pool is the Jubilicious Restaurant.
It’s possible to have breakfast included with your room rate with two restaurants offering this. One is Halal and one isn’t. Room service is available.
A big plus of this hotel is that there are more eating options and shops in the ground floor of the building including a convenience store. The convenience store was expensive. There is also a massage place.
It is very convenient to stay here.
Final Words
This hotel is a budget choice of where to stay in Singapore if you want facilities and a reasonably good location. Our room was comfortable, albeit a little too small and not well soundproofed. The pool area is great, and there is plenty of easy eating and shopping nearby.
My biggest complaint is that this hotel is rated at four stars, and this gave me expectations which were not met. It’s a solid 3-star hotel in my opinion. Maybe slightly less if you take the thin walls into account.
This made it feel very expensive, especially since the price was similar to 5-star resorts we had just left behind in Langkawi. However, this is not a fair comparison. Singapore is an expensive destination, and this hotel was a relatively low price. From that point of view, I think it was good value.
Would I stay here again? Yes, for one or two people if the price was still relatively low. The room is a little small for three.
