This option should be included on any Ipoh budget hotel list. This hotel near Ipoh is available for a great price and is located on the outer edges of town. While it’s a bit farther from Old Town, it’s still in a good location. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
A wide variety of rooms are available at the MH Hotel. There are varying bedding configurations, including two twins, a king, or one queen and one twin. Mu Hotel Review
Address: PT 212695B, Jalan Medan Ipoh 1A, Medan Ipoh Bistari, Perak, Taman Bandaraya, Ipoh
Mu Hotel is a great, 3 star option in a central location a quick Grab ride or longer walk from the Old Town. It’s a great balance of price, comfort and location. It’s surrounded by eating options and it’s about a 8-minute walk from the night market.
There is a range of room options at the Mu Hotel which is what we attracted us, especially as there is a great two bedroom deluxe unit which is great for families. In this room type, you get two bedrooms as well as a desk area.
All rooms have air-conditioning, mini-fridge, wifi, smart TV and everything you would expect in a 3-star hotel. In fact, it’s definitely one of the better 3-star hotels I have stayed in in Malaysia, maybe the best.
The rooms are also clean, quiet and very comfortable. You can upgrade to a room with a courtyard if you wish.
The only downside of Mu Hotel is that there isn’t a pool. There is a gym, a little inside play area, a restaurant (open for breakfast and lunch) and a rooftop bar. However, the bar wasn’t open when we visited which is a shame as it would be perfect for a sunset cocktail.

It’s a great price and is super comfortable, modern and quiet. The location is handy too.
Worst Parts?
My only real complaint is that I wish there was a pool.
