Top 10 Best Hotels In Bintulu, Malaysia

Here are our reviews of the top 10 hotels in Bintulu.

ParkCity Everly Hotel Bintulu Review

ParkCity Everly Hotel Bintulu swimming pool
Fabulous pool area. It’s BIG!

Address: Plot No.1, Lot 3062, Jalan Tun Razak, Bintulu City Centre, Bintulu

Near: Next to a mall and the waterfront, a very short drive from the centre

Room Types: Standard, deluxe and executive room options with twin and double configuration. Suites as well

Top Features:

  • 2 dining options
  • Outdoor swimming pool
  • By the sea
  • Shopping centre right next door

When you stay at the ParkCity Everly Hotel Bintulu, you are right where the Kemana River meets the sea. There is a shopping centre next door so the location is very convenient for shopping and restaurants. It’s only two kilometres to the centre of town which makes it the second closest hotel to the centre in this list.

There are a range of room types with standard, deluxe and executive options which come in double and twin options. You can also stay in a suite which have a separate living area with some having kitchens and balcony terraces as well. If you stay in a suite, you also get access to an executive lounge.

All rooms have WiFi, air-conditioning, a flatscreen TV, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, a desk area, a private bathroom and toiletries. The difference between standard and deluxe rooms is that deluxe rooms have a partial sea view. Executive rooms are bigger and have sea views.

If you like to exercise on vacation, there is a gym. If you prefer to relax, take a swim in the large outdoor pool. It’s big and beautiful close to the water. There is plenty of parking available which is free. I parked here myself!

When you’re ready for something to eat, you’ll have three dining options to choose from. The M&D Restaurant serves a large variety of international and local dishes and is open all day. For something lighter, try the Luconia Bay Coffee Terrace. You can also get room service. Of course, there is also the shopping centre next door.

ParkCity Everly Hotel Bintulu Executive King
My Executive King room

Best Parts?

The location is nice by the water and a shopping centre. The rooms are solid midrange with everything you need, and this hotel can be good value.

Worst Parts?

The hotel looks older style and could do with some updating. My executive room was scruffy, but well maintained. Unfortunately, it also smelled like cigarettes.

Summary

There is no 5-star hotel in Bintulu, but Park City Hotel Bintulu is a great midrange hotel option, and one of the best options on this list. It’s my preferred place to stay. The hotel is close to the sea, so there are great views available. If you’re looking for a decently priced hotel with plenty of amenities — this is it.

NU Hotel Bintulu Review

Address: No. 126 Lot 8349 Assyakirin Commerce Square, Jalan Tanjung Kidurong, Bintulu City Centre, Bintulu

Near: Within walking distance of the Terminal Bas Bintulu Central (main bus station), eating and shopping options. About 4 kilometres from the centre.

Room Types: Standard, superior and deluxe rooms as well as suites. Twin, double and family options

Top Features:

  • Multiple eating options
  • Pool
  • Handy location to bus station
  • Newer hotel

Staying at the NU Hotel Bintulu is super convenient if you are arriving or leaving Bintulu by bus as you are just a ten minute walk away. There is plenty of shopping and eating options nearby, but you will need to get a Grab taxi if you want to go into the centre of Bintulu.

There are standard, superior and deluxe room options as well as suites. All rooms includes WiFi, air-conditioning, a flatscreen TV, a sofa, a desk, a safe, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water. There are twin and king options as well as a family deluxe room which has a queen and single bed.

For more space, book a suite with the option of a separate living room. All rooms are modern and comfortable.

For a chance to relax, take a dip in the outdoor pool. It’s on the small side, but it will help you cool down. Next to the pool is an outdoor terrace where you can enjoy a drink or light meals.

Enjoy a meal at the NU hotel restaurant that serves local and international options. Every day, the restaurant serves a breakfast buffet along with lunch and dinner. If you need a drink after a long day, try the lobby lounge.

There’s also a food court next to this hotel.

Best Parts?

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and this hotel is great value. The hotel is super handy to shops and restaurants as well as the bus station.

Worst Parts?

The pool is small, and it’s not that well located to the city centre.

Summary

The NU hotel Bintulu is one of the best hotels on the list for eating and shopping as well as for having great value rooms. It is a great hotel area Binutulu has to offer. It is also a relatively new hotel in Bintulu, having only been constructed at the end of 2016.

Promenade Hotel Bintulu Review

Address: No. 178, Lot 8074, Bintulu Sentral, Jalan Kidurong, Bintulu City Centre, Bintulu

Near: Located next to the Terminal Bas Bintulu Central (main bus station) and many eating and shopping options. About 4.5 kilometres from the centre

Room Types: Superior and deluxe rooms as well as executive suites. Double and twin configuration

Top Features:

  • Great rooms
  • Handy location
  • On-site restaurant

When you stay at the Promenade Hotel Bintulu, you are staying at a super handy location right next to the main bus station as well as many shopping and eating options. However, if you want to head into central Bintulu, you’ll need to take a taxi.

There are three room types at the Promenade Hotel so you can choose between standard and deluxe rooms or treat yourself to an executive suite which has a living area. Standard and deluxe rooms are very similar with deluxe rooms just having a tiny bit more space.

All rooms include WiFi, air-conditioning, a flatscreen TV,  a safe, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water and a private bathroom with a shower and toiletries. They are modern and comfortable.

For some delicious food, head to Peppers Cafe located on the ground floor of the hotel. This restaurant specialises in Sabah-style a la carte menu items and is open all day. If you prefer to stay in, consider ordering room service.

There is a lack of facilities at this hotel beyond the usual 24 hour front desk and laundry service. There isn’t parking available at the hotel, but it is meant to be easy to get free parking in the surrounds.

Best Parts?

The location is certainly the best part. You are right by the bus station and many eating and shopping options. The rooms are also clean and comfortable.

Worst Parts?

There isn’t on-site parking. There is a lack of facilities for a hotel at this price point.

Summary

The Promenade Hotel Bintulu is another hotel near Medan Jaya Bintulu. It is also another relatively new hotel. Bintulu just opened the doors of the Promenade in 2014. This is one of the more expensive hotels on the list, although it is quite affordable. Still, the rooms are solid and the location is useful. I just wish there were more facilities like a pool for this price.

JC Mark Hotel Review

Address: No 109 (Lot 8180-8185), Block 31, Kidurong Height, Kemena Land District, Bintulu City Centre, Bintulu

Near: Few minutes walk from Terminal Bas Bintulu Central (main bus station), close to shops and restaurants. About 4.5 kilometres from the centre

Room Types: Standard, deluxe and premier rooms with king and twin options. Studio rooms with kitchen.

Top Features:

  • 24 hour front desk
  • Close to the bus station
  • Solid rooms
  • Great price

The JC Mark Hotel is another option very close to the main bus station and surrounded by shopping and eating options. It is a little further from the centre of the city. This is cheaper than the options above though with the standard room price making this a great budget hotel Bintulu Sarawak option.

This hotel has standard, deluxe and premier room options as well as a studio room which comes with a sofa and kitchen. The main difference between the room types (excluding studio) is how much space you get.

All rooms includes WiFi, air-conditioning, a flatscreen TV, a desk area, tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries and a private bathroom.

There is no on-site restaurant and a lack of facilities at this hotel. The rooms are good and comfortable though.

Best Parts?

The rooms are comfortable and clean for a good price. The bus station is close by as are plenty of eating and shopping options.

Worst Parts?

The location is a bit further from the town’s main attractions. There is a lack of facilities.

Summary

The JC Mark Hotel is a nice, cheap hotel in Bintulu. There isn’t anything special about this hotel as there aren’t any additional amenities. However, the rooms are cozy and clean, so this is the perfect option if you’re looking for a hotel on a budget close to the bus station.

Goldenbay Hotel Bintulu Review

The RoofTop, Dining & Lounge Bintulu Goldenbay hotel
The RoofTop, Dining & Lounge at Goldenbay. I love it!

Address: Lot 3493, Bintulu Town, Jalan Tun Razak, Bintulu City Centre, Bintulu

Near: Just over 2 kilometres from the centre, close to the coast and The Spring shopping centre

Room Types: Deluxe and supreme deluxe rooms and a range of suites including a family suite

Top Features:

  • Amazing rooftop bar
  • Additional on-site restaurant
  • Kid’s Pool
  • Great range of rooms

The Goldenbay Hotel Bintulu is situated in an ok location near the sea. It’s going to be a bit of a walk to reach the town’s main attractions, but shops and restaurants are close by.

There’s a choice of deluxe and supreme deluxe rooms. They come with king beds or the deluxe room can have twin beds. Supreme deluxe rooms are much bigger. You can also choose a suite option. These have more space and living areas. Family suites have a king and single bed.

All rooms have WiFi, air-conditioning, a mini-fridge, a flatscreen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water, bathrobe, a desk area and a private bathroom with a shower.

Grab something to eat at the Sunshine Cafe where you can dine on Asian fusion cuisine. For more options, choose the buffet. In the morning, you can dine on a yummy breakfast buffet. If you prefer to stay in your room, you can always order room service.

For a delicious drink or a meal, head up to the undercover Rooftop Dining and Lounge where you can overlook the city and the sea and watch the sunset. There’s 360 degree views from here over Bintulu. It’s amazing, and I visit here even if I’m not staying at this hotel

If you’re vacationing with your young kids, be sure to take them for a splash. There is a lovely, shallow kid’s pool on the rooftop as well. There’s also a gym and free parking.

Best Parts?

The rooftop bar is amazing and worth visiting even if you aren’t staying here. For the price, this hotel represents good value.

Worst Parts?

The hotel could do with some updating. The car parking can fill up, and it can be difficult to exit the car park if you can’t find a spot. Some rooms are noisy if they are near the street. The pool is very shallow.

Summary

This is a solid midrange option. It’s not as good as some of the others on this list, but the price of the Goldenbay Hotel Bintulu is good for what you’ll get. This hotel also suits families with the kid pool and family room option.

Click here for more information and the latest prices.

Families will want to check out the premier queen room which come with two queen size beds. There are also Green suites (also called studio suites). These have more space with a separate study area.

All rooms at the Greens Hotel and Suites Bintulu include WiFi, air-conditioning, a flatscreen TV, a mini-fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, bottled water, a private bathroom, toiletries and a hairdryer. Upgraded rooms are generally bigger. The cheaper standard rooms are on the small side.

Summary

The Green Hotel Bintulu is a great option when you want to be surrounded by shops and restaurants to make things easy. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the price is very reasonable, and you’ll receive delicious food. Just keep in mind that many of the town’s main attractions are a far walk.

New World Suites Review

Address: Lot 3971, Parkcity Commerce Square, Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi, Bintulu City Centre, Bintulu

Near: Closest hotel to centre at 1.5 kilometres away. Many eating and shopping options nearby

Room Types: Premier and executive rooms and a range of suites with either a super king bed or twin single beds. There is also a triple room with a single bed and super king bed

Top Features:

  • Best rooms
  • Best location
  • Great on-site restaurant

When you stay at the New World Hotel Bintulu, you are at the closest hotel in this list to the centre. You’re also moments away from The Springs shopping centre, and there are plenty of eating options in the hotel’s surrounds.

The rooms at this four star hotel may be the best ones on this list. You can choose between a premier or executive room or a range of suites. All rooms are spacious, beautifully furnished and comfortable. The hotel prides itself on its luxurious rooms.

All rooms at the New World Suites Hotel Bintulu includes WiFi, air-conditioning, a desk area, a smart TV, a mini-fridge, a safe, tea and coffee making facilities, a lounge chair, a telephone, a private bathroom, a hairdryer and toiletries. The rooms are fabulous and the housekeeping staff keep them looking good as well.

Sit down for an elegant meal at Paddy’s Coffee House, the Irish themed coffee house on the 5th floor. The restaurant serves both local Asian cuisine and international cuisine. Inside the restaurant, you can enjoy panoramic views of the South China Sea and the Bintulu Waterfront Promenade.

The one area that this hotel lets itself down is that there is a lack of facilities. There is free parking, but not much else.

Best Parts?

Worst Parts?

This hotel is the most expensive on the list, and there is a lack of facilities. If it just had a pool, it would be perfect!

Jinhold Apartment Hotel Review

Address: Lot 7920, Along Jalan Tanjung Batu, Bintulu City Centre, Bintulu

Near: The sea. About 2.5 kilometres from the centre and 1 kilometre from The Springs shopping centre

Room Types: Standard hotel rooms plus studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments

Top Features:

  • Apartments available
  • Sea views
  • On-site restaurant

When you stay at the Jinhold Apartment Hotel, you will be close to the ocean, but a couple of kilometres from the centre of town. It’s not as well located as other options on this list.

Where this hotel wins is its range of room types. It has standard hotel rooms (although even these offer extras like a full size fridge) and a range of apartments. This makes this a great choice for families, groups or anyone who wants more space. Studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments are available.

All rooms includes air-conditioning, WiFi, a fridge, a flatscreen TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a desk, chairs and a private bathroom. Upgraded rooms may include a dual vanity and shower. For the standard hotel rooms, there are twins, doubles and triples available.

All studios and apartments include the amenities in the standard rooms as well as living and dining areas and kitchens. Apartments have separate bedrooms and quite a lot of space. They can fit up to seven people.

All room types are very good value. In fact, the standard hotel rooms are some of the cheapest rooms in Bintulu on this list. Many rooms have sea views.

When you’re ready to eat, take a seat in the on-site restaurant. There is also free parking.

Best Parts?

The apartments are a great option for families and groups. The standard hotel rooms offer great value too.

Worst Parts?

There is a lack of facilities here, and it’s not that close to attractions. Apartments book out easily so book as far in advance as possible,

Summary

The Jinhold hotel Bintulu is one of the cheapest hotels on the list. It’s the best option if you want apartment style accommodation. The downsides are that it’s not as conveniently located as other hotels in this list and there’s a lack of facilities.

When you stay at the Athome Boutique Hotel, you’re going to be quite far from Bintulu’s attractions. This is not a central spot so best suits people with a car. There are some restaurants and shops in the surrounds.
